The immediate past legislator for Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon Olubukola Oyewo, has expressed his gratitude to God and his constituents for the opportunity given him to represent the territory at the 9th National Assembly.
Hon. Oyewo praised stakeholders across the area during a grand valedictory reception in his honor hosted by the Ifon-Orolu sons and daughters under the aegis of Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union in Ifon town on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
The All Progressives Congress(APC) chieftain leveraged the well-attended event to reflect on his journey at the National Assembly for 4 years, giving all glory to God Almighty for the gift of life, while also appreciation to inhabitants of Osogbo Federal Constituency for their trust, confidence and unflinching support for him.
While speaking at the event, Hon. Bashiru Dawodu, who represented the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila described Oyewo as a passionate achiever and good representative of his people.
Dawodu recalled several discussions with Oyewo where he was only “fighting for the course of his constituents. He never at any point come seek personal gratification. Bukoy represented you well and I believe posterity will judge him good.”
Addressing newsmen at the end of the valedictory session, Oyewo said, “It has been four solid years of selfless and meritorious service to my cherished constituents, Nigerians, and humanity as a whole.
” I am grateful to God Almighty, in whose grace and compassion I am alive and have come this far. I am also genuinely thankful to the good people of Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency for entrusting me with the mandate and confidence to represent them in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.”
“I feel fulfilled and satisfied because it was not about occupying the office and the title, but service to the people. And that was precisely what I did during my tenure despite numerous setbacks,” he added.
Chairman of APC Elders Caucus in Osun, Engr Sola Akinwumi also praised the former Lawmaker for his achievements in four years. He said the party is proud of what he did and would continue to appreciate his service to the Constituency.
The event had in attendance traditional rulers, political leaders, traders, student groups, youths, socio-cultural associations and several others from within and beyond Osogbo Federal Constituency.
The Eesa of Ifon-Osun, Chairman of APC Elders Forum in Osun and an array of other dignitaries also graced the event with their presence.
