Known to be full of twists and intrigues, this year’s edition of the popular TV reality show, Big Brother Naija, promises to have even more surprises.

According to the organisers, this year, which has been tagged the ‘All-Star’ edition, will witness the return of fan favourites from past editions of the show, while the grand prize has been increased to a whooping N120m.

Speaking during a media parley on Friday, the Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, stated that fans of the show would, as in the past, decide which of the housemates to be evicted when the show eventually starts on Sunday, July 23.

The company’s Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, Busola Tejumola, added that the show would last for 70 days.

She said, “We are excited to bring you a refreshed season of Big Brother Naija. I am sure you all have noticed the buzz on social media and all the speculations about the eighth season of this well-loved show. We can confirm to you today that this will be the All-Star Edition.”

Tejumola also disclosed that the forthcoming edition will feature a new game tagged, ‘The Black Envelope game’, while adding that 30 fans would be eligible to win N1m each.

Also, the ninjas will return for the new edition, in addition to the usual weekly wagers, Head of House Challenges— which will now last for four hours, Arena Games, and other sponsored tasks.

Though the announcement had already generated a buzz among fans, with many wondering which of the former housemates would eventually make it back to Big Brother’s house, the organisers did not reveal the ex-contestants that would be gracing the screens during the show.

Recall that the Big Brother Titans, which featured Nigerian and South African housemates held earlier in the year, with South African, Khosi, winning the show and taking home $100,000.

A Nigerian, Kanaga Jnr, emerged as the first runner-up.
