The National Executive of the Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union (IPU) has extended warm congratulations to the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General Toareed Lagbaja on behalf of the entire people of Ifon-Kingdom. The appointment was made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a letter addressed to the Chief of Army Staff, the IPU expressed their belief that the President’s choice was based on the recipient’s exceptional patriotism, professionalism, dedication, and commitment to the service of the nation, as demonstrated throughout their career in the Nigerian Army.
“The National Executive of the Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union (IPU), on behalf of the entire people of Ifon-Kingdom, hereby writes to congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR”
The IPU commended Tinubu, for selecting a candidate who is well-suited for the role, emphasizing that this decision instills hope and provides reassurance of improved security in the country.
“We therefore commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for putting a round peg in a round hole and thereby raising hope and giving assurances of improved security in the Country”
In their message, the IPU also conveyed their prayers for the Chief of Army Staff’s continued guidance, protection, and strength as they undertake their new duties and responsibilities.
“We pray to God to continue to guide, guard and strengthen you as you carry out your new duties and responsibilities”
With this appointment, the nation eagerly anticipates the implementation of effective strategies to tackle security challenges and ensure the well-being of all Nigerian citizens.
The Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union (IPU) remains steadfast in its support and cooperation with the Chief of Army Staff and the Nigerian Army, as they work towards safeguarding the nation and promoting peace and stability.
The signatory was executed by Mohammed Oyedemi, the President of the Union, in conjunction with his secretary, Nurudeen Kazeem.
Lagbaja was appointed by President Tinubu as the Chief of Army Staff of Nigeria on June 19, 2023. He hails from Ilobu, Ireodun local government, which is neighborhood to Orolu local government.
