A helicopter has crashed in the Oba Akran neighborhood of Ikeja, Lagos State, not far from the Murtala Muhammed Airport.
Tunji Oketunbi, the spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), confirmed the development to our correspondent on Tuesday afternoon.
An official from The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) also confirmed to our correspondent that the event occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), two people were aboard the doomed helicopter.
NEMA Zonal Coordinator for the South-West, Ibrahim Farinloye, stated on the Agency’s official WhatsApp channel that while the name of the helicopter’s operator was unknown, both men were rescued alive.
First responders from NEMA, LASEMA and investigators from the NSIB have arrived the scene.
