Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, widely known as Spyro, has voiced his criticism of fellow musicians who incorporate suggestive lyrics that might promote fraudulent activities among young people.

He particularly pointed out the lyrics of the hit track “Elon Musk” by the fast-rising artist, Shallipopi, wherein the phrase ‘para dey body’ is used.

Spyro raises concerns about lyrics encouraging fraudulent behavior

He argued that such lyrics have the power to influence individuals’ actions over time, as people tend to internalize what they see and hear.

Despite being a secular singer, the “Who’s Your Guy” crooner, who identifies as a born-again Christian, cautioned young people against adopting corrupt ideologies.

He stated that the devil often presents himself in subtle ways, contrary to the conventional notion of him appearing with physical horns.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast with hosts Nedu and others, Spyro explained: “You become what you see and say. So, if you’re saying, ‘para dey body’ before you know, that’s where fraud starts from.

“E get the way wey you go take hear something, you go wake up sef, na that thing go come out for your head because you have internalised it. You’ve digested it, it has gone into your system.

“Once you take it in, they just put one song in your mind. A lot of people think in this generation that the devil will come with horns. He won’t come with horns but in the form of suggestions.”
