In a late-night announcement, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has removed 21 heads of various agencies, parastatals, and companies under the FCT Administration. Although the minister did not provide reasons for their dismissal, he instructed them to immediately vacate their positions.

According to a statement released by the Director of Press, Anthony Ogunleye, the affected senior officials are to hand over their office responsibilities to the highest-ranking officers in their respective agencies. The replacements for these positions will be announced at a later time.

Among those relieved of their duties are the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Investment Company Ltd, the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Abuja Markets Management Ltd, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company, and the Managing Director of Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company, among others.

This unexpected move by Minister Nyesom Wike has left many speculating about the reasons behind these high-profile dismissals, as no official explanations have been provided.
