In a compelling address to the public, Adewumi Adeyemi (Irekandu) a prominent member of the Osun State House of Assembly, called upon governors across Nigeria to embrace the concept of continuity in governance, using recent developments in Lagos and Osun State as shining examples.

Adeyemi’s plea came on the heels of the grand launch of the Lagos Blue Train, a monumental project that will undoubtedly transform the transportation landscape in the state.

Adeyemi who is representing Obokun State Constituency pointed to this significant infrastructure endeavour as a testament to the power of consistent vision and long-term planning in government.

“Our vision should be beyond four years,” Adeyemi emphasised, echoing a sentiment that underscores the need for Nigerian leaders to prioritise continuity in their governance strategies.

He cited the Lagos Blue Train project, which was initiated by former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and has been diligently pursued by subsequent administrations, as a prime illustration of the benefits that come with sustained commitment to a common goal.

Adeyemi also highlighted the road channelization projects in Osun State, spanning the tenures of former governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Rauf Aregbesola, Gboyega Oyetola, and the current governor, Ademola Adeleke.

He praised Governor Adeleke for continuing and completing projects initiated during Aregbesola’s tenure, demonstrating the value of consistency in governance.

Adeyemi emphasised that embracing continuity in governance would not only lead to better service delivery but also foster a more stable and progressive political landscape.

These projects have seen steady progress and improvement over time, with each administration building upon the foundations laid by its predecessor.

“This is a clear demonstration that progress knows no political boundaries,” Adeyemi stated.

“When our leaders prioritise continuity, it’s the people who benefit the most. These infrastructure projects in Osun State, regardless of the party in power, have consistently improved the lives of our citizens.”

Adeyemi’s call for continuity in governance serves as a timely reminder to leaders across Nigeria that long-term planning, bipartisan cooperation, and a shared vision can lead to enduring positive change.

As the nation continues to face pressing challenges, it is voices like Adeyemi’s that inspire hope for a brighter and more prosperous future.
