In a momentous development, the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has showered praise on Governor Ademola Adeleke for his relentless efforts in securing the swift approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the newly established University of Ilesa.

In an official statement released by the PDP and signed by its Chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi, the party extended its heartfelt congratulations to the University of Ilesa Community and the entire Ijesa land for this remarkable achievement. The party emphasized that the accelerated approval underscores Governor Adeleke’s sincere commitment to realizing the lofty dream of the Ijesa nation regarding the establishment of this prestigious institution of learning.

The NUC, in a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, conveyed its approval for 32 full-time programs to be offered initially at the university’s main campus, commencing from the 2023/2024 academic session. These approved programs include Anatomy, Physiology, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Microbiology, Nursing, and English, among others.

Osun PDP also offered its unwavering support to the management of UNILESA and assured them that Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will continue to back the institution, fostering its academic mission in the education landscape of the country.

The PDP statement concluded with words of felicitation for the Owa Obokun in Council and the people of Ijesa land for achieving administrative approval in such a short period under the stewardship of the PDP government. It called upon the university’s administration and its members to dedicate their utmost efforts to transform the institution into an enviable academic institution in record time.
