A total of 33 individuals, abducted in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, were successfully rescued by the LGA’s Joint Security Task Force. The victims had been captured by armed men who held them hostage in the forest, awaiting ransom payments from their families.
Upon the directive of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who originates from the same LGA, the security taskforce took action against the bandits, ensuring the safe release of every single abductee.
On Friday night, the 33 rescued individuals were handed over to Alkaleri LGA’s Caretaker Chairman, Bala Mahmoud, by the security team in Yalwan Duguri, the Governor’s birthplace. Applauding the rapid response of the security forces, Mahmoud confirmed the victims would receive medical evaluations to ensure their health and well-being before further steps are taken.
