In their concerted effort to combat poverty and provide relief to the people after the removal of subsidy, the All Progressive Congress (APC), Osun State Chapter, in collaboration with the South West Agenda (SWAGA), started the distribution of 600 bags of rice across the state.

This initiative, aimed at bolstering the Federal Government’s palliative measures, was launched on Tuesday at the Ileri-Oluwa House in Osogbo, with the primary goal of extending assistance to grassroots communities through their respective Local Governments.

Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, the National Chairman of SWAGA, made a commitment that the palliative efforts would reach various local governments and households within Osun State.

He emphasized their meticulous logistical arrangements designed to ensure the palliatives reach those who need them most.

“We have established a highly efficient logistics framework that guarantees delivery to the grassroots,” Senator Adeyeye declared.

“SWAGA boasts an impressive logistical structure throughout the entire South West region, including Kwara and Kogi. We will harness this structure to ensure the palliatives reach the grassroots.” The former lawmaker said.

He clarified that, while a significant portion of the palliatives was still at the storage facility, the launch ceremony was intended to signify the commencement of distribution.

Furthermore, Senator Adeyeye underscored that the palliative is intended for the general public, not limited to SWAGA or APC members.

“This is a SWAGA program, and it’s not exclusively for SWAGA or APC members; it is for the general public as well”, he emphasized.

Regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s first 100 days in office, Senator Adeyeye praised his leadership abilities and highlighted the commitment to transformative leadership.

“President Tinubu has displayed remarkable leadership capacity in his first 100 days. We promised Nigerians that we would bring dynamic leadership to reshape the country’s politics. In these 100 days, President Tinubu has shown tremendous leadership potential.

“He has consistently stressed that Nigeria possesses the human and material resources, along with favorable climatic conditions, but what has been lacking is effective leadership, and he has offered himself for that purpose.”

Hon. Ayo Omidiran, Osun Chairperson of SWAGA, revealed that SWAGA is a support group that believes in sustaining support for the government in power beyond election victories.

“We understand that many people may be left out when the Federal Government’s palliatives pass through the state government.

“SWAGA’s palliatives are meant as a token of appreciation to everyone who supported Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the elections. We will continue to do our best as long as he remains the president of Nigeria.”

Hon. Oyetunde Ojo expressed gratitude to those standing with Tinubu during challenging times and assured the public that the current hardships would soon be history.

He explained that the palliative is a collective effort by SWAGA members to assist the Federal Government in reaching out to the people.

“We compiled a list of individuals within SWAGA, and as a group, we contributed to this cause. With our limited resources, we managed to assemble trailer loads of palliatives, totaling 600 bags for each state, spanning nearly 36 states, equating to one trailer per state.”

He concluded by emphasizing that these palliatives were not exclusive to SWAGA or APC members but were meant to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and were intended for all Nigerians in the state.
