Rapper Naira Marley has addressed reports about ruining the life of Aderoju Mathew aka DJ Splash, a disc jockey supposedly signed to his record label, Marlian Music.
Following the demise of MohBad, actress, Iyabo Ojo paid a visit to Aderoju Mathew aka DJ Splash, a disc jockey dubbed a former signee of Marlian Music who’s allegedly battling mental illness.
DJ Splash’s mother, in a recently surfaced video, accused Naira Marley of ruining her son’s life and abandoning him.
She claimed shortly after Naira Markey took her son to live at his residence in the Lekki neighbourhood of Lagos, he became ill, suffered memory loss and had not been mentally stable.
She also said that DJ Splash became so ill that she had sold everything in order to foot his medical bills at various hospitals, claiming her son had resisted taking medication recommended by doctors and insisted he would only accept those from Naira Marley.
But in a recent interview with former presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri, the Marlian boss vehemently refuted claims that he had anything to do with the ruination of the disc jockey’s career, life.
He said at no point was DJ Splash ever signed to his record label nor worked for him.
He admitted knowing DJ Splash but insisted they never worked together, noting he was dubbed Marlian DJ simply because of the photo they snapped together.
The “Soapy” claimed every other narrative about DJ Splash’s illness and what not were lies, wondering where all those were all emanating from.
He said: “DJ Splash was never signed to Marlian Music; I know him as a DJ, but he’s never deejayed with me at shows or anything.
“It’s not like he’s my DJ, they just gave him the title because I have a picture with him. As nice as I am to everybody now, there’s a lot of people around me that come and go.
“When whatever happened to him, he was not at my house, he was far gone from I don’t know where he went and I don’t understand where all this is coming from, DJ Splash, DJ whatever, I don’t understand where it’s coming from, that’s all lies.
“They’re just bringing out people from nowhere to tell lies. He was never my DJ, he was never signed to Marlian Music. He has never worked for Marlian Music.”
