The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the Governorship election held on Saturday in Imo State.
Professor Abayomi Fasina, the Retuning Officer of INEC made the declaration on Sunday in Owerri.
Fasina, who is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, announced that Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress won the polls with 540,308 while candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Samuel Anyawu came distant second with 71,503 votes.
Candidate of the Labour Party, Athan Achonu had 64,081 votes.
Governorship election was held in Imo on Saturday and it has been full of drama.
