The Osun Masterminds responded to the recent statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor of Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, expressing mixed sentiments on the government’s declared willingness to engage with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

According to the statement signed by the executive director of the Organisation, Prof Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, disclosed that while acknowledging the potential positive development of genuine engagement with CSOs, we expressed reservations due to the perceived manipulations in the government’s press statement.

They cautiously welcomed the prospect of true collaboration while remaining vigilant about the government’s past communication tactics.

They also clarified their commitment to development and underscored that their engagement is based on loyalty to the ideals of good governance. They emphasized their focus on offering counsel to the State Government in the overall interest of Osun people.

The statement addressed recent incidents where the group faced criticism from individuals aligned with the Governor’s Spokesperson, despite their dedication to providing constructive advice to the State Government. They called for responsible behavior from the government and discouraged the use of derogatory tactics.

The Masterminds pointedly discussed the removal of the State’s Chief Judge and the subsequent failed appointment of an Acting Chief Judge. They criticized the Spokesperson’s handling of the situation, citing contradictory press releases as evidence. The group expressed disappointment with the government’s attempt to proceed with an illegality until public outcry intervened.
