Members of the Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, on Monday staged a protest at the office of the State Chief Judge.

The protest as gathered was unconnected with the going face-off between the judiciary and the executive under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

It was gathered that the Osun JUSUN protest is in solidarity with some of their members whom they alleged have suffered various forms of persecution under the embattled Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo.

The Chairman Osun JUSUN, Oluwagbemiga Olakunle Eludire while speaking with journalists on Monday at the premises of the Osun State High Court which houses the office of the CJ highlighted the demands of the workers.

Eludire said “We demanded to know from Justice Ojo why our wardrobe allowance from 2021 till date has not been released despite funding by state government.

“We want to know why government directive on promotion and advancement made available by Osun government was not used for the purpose approved for?

“We want to know why notable JUSUN members were unlawfully suspended without proper investigation against public service rules.

“We will not back down until that appropriate action is taken on the matter.”
