Juan Micha, the head coach of Equatorial Guinea, has expressed conflicting emotions regarding his team’s performance against Nigeria in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, stating that he was not happy with the outcome.
Equatorial held the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a draw on Sunday.
The Super Eagles’ offensive power was met with resistance by the Nzalang Nacional. Jesus Ngua, the goalkeeper for Equatorial Guinea, was declared Man of the Match following a strong performance yesterday.
Micha declined to call this outcome an accomplishment during a news conference held after the game. He told reporters that he planned to keep working toward his goals for this year’s AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

I believe that the team I am leading is getting ready every day to play in this competition. As a former elite player, I consider myself fortunate to be knowledgeable about every aspect of football,” he remarked.
He went on to say that his teammates did not want to get carried away by this encouraging outcome and instead planned to remain realistic.
“There is still much work to be done; our mission is not yet finished.”This is the opening game of a group stage. We will try to advance to the following level before determining the course of events.
The second matchup between Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau is scheduled for Thursday.
Micha and his team will advance to the round of 16 if they defeat the Djurtus.
In its three previous participations, the country of Central Africa has advanced past the group stages.
