Cooperative Societies in Osun State have been admonished to encourage their members to enroll in the State Health Insurance Scheme( OHIS), through installment payments, in order to access quality healthcare services.

This admonition was given by the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, while addressing participants at the first Osun State Cooperative Summit and Awards held at Staff Development Centre, Abere.

Dr. Akindele, who was represented by Director of Programmes (OSHIA), Pharm. Olasunkami Sunmonu charged existing OHIS enrollees to endeavour to know their rights, so that they will not be cheated by their Health Care Providers, advancing that enrollees have the right to call OSHIA Headquarters on mobile number
07000 2255 6447 to lodge their complaints.

The OSHIA Boss explained that capitations are paid monthly to all accredited Health Care Providers on enrollees,under their care, whether they go for treatment or not.

Dr. Akindele announced that the Monitoring and Inspection Team of the Agency are going round, to ensure that HCPs do the needful based the MoU signed with the Agency.

The OHIS Boss, who took time to enlighten participants on ailments that are not yet covered by the Scheme, detailing mental illness and Cancer, however assured that financial assistance is available to all categories of enrollees.
