Kwara State Government has begun fresh disbursement of relief funds to another round of 5, 000 vulnerable households, a statement said on Wednesday.
The disbursement was said to have commenced after weeks of enumeration process across the 16 local government areas of the state.
“We have started the disbursement for new support to another 5, 000 vulnerable households in the state. Each beneficiary gets the sum of N30,000,” a statement quoted theAg. General Manager Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP) Dr. Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini, as saying on Wednesday.
“This is to complement the other interventions the administration has been doing to grant relief to the masses in the face of inflation in the country. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the people’s governor, is unrelenting in his quest to provide succor to the people within the limit of available resources.”
The new support for vulnerable households follows another public workforce scheme, which was done earlier in February.
At least 8, 000 unemployed youths and women were captured and credited as the Kwara State Government continues rolling out a bevy of programmes to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal in the state.
