Residents of Kajola, Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State have protested against the planned installation of the Osun State Government to present staff of office to Mr Aderibigbe Omirin as the Loja of Kajola.
The people expressed their anger by protesting and blocking the Osogbo-Ilesha Road on Thursday morning.
While speaking with Insight Links TV, Prince Akinyemi Benjamin, said that the installation of Aderibigbe Omirin was illegal, as he claimed that he was a traditional ruler from Ilase.
Benjamin said that Aderibigbe was once a king in Ilase and it was impossible to oversee another town.
He also alleged that the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Barr. Dosu Babatunde is the counsel to Omirin and the case is presently pending at the Court of Appeal, Akure.
Iyabo Adegbobi, Iyaloja Kajola also appealed to the State Government for immediate intervention in order to avert communal clash in the community.
When contacted, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi said that the government is aware of the protest, adding that his counterparts at the Local Government and Chieftancy affairs is handing the matter.
