Residents of Kajola in Atakunmosa West local government area of osun State are calling on Governor Ademola Adeleke to the Court decide the case of Loja of Kajola before installation ofF Oba Aderibigbe Omirin.
At a press conference held Monday in Kajola, Johnson Akinyemi, who said he is the Baale of Kajola, reiterated that Aderibigbe wasn’t a native of Kajola and presenting him with the staff of Office while the case was still in Court wasn’t acceptable by the people of the community.
Akinyemi also said that “Oba Aderibigbe used to be a king in Ilase and it is not possible to be kings in two places, now the matter has been in Court since 2010, and now they have presented him with the staff of office while the matter is in Court. We reject this. The people of Kajola do not want him.
Similarly, a resident of the town, Rasheed Aremu also stated that “only the Court has the final say, only the Court has the rights to decide on whoever wins. If the Court says we won, no problem, if the Court says he wins, no problem. All we want is that all parties in the case should wait for the Court’s verdict in order to avoid crisis in the community. This is where we have properties and we won’t allow anyone to cause crisis here.”
Reacting to the allegations, Oba Aderibigbe stated that he was one of the princes of Owa Obokun, who has the rights to be king.
“I am one of the princes of Owa Obokun, and Ọwá Obokun is the constituted authority to appoint any of the princes as the Loja of Kajola, and as a prince I have right, I have also been on the throne since 2012”, he explained.
He also said he, Akinyemi and three others were screened in 2010 before he was confirmed. He also brandished some documents authenticating his rulership of the community.
