The Hon Commissioner for Federal Affairs, Mrs Adenike Adeleke on a working visit to the High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Abuja, where she met with the High Commissioner,Major General Sohail (rtd) who warmly received the Commissioner into his Private Office along with her entourage.
During the visit, Mrs Adenike Adeleke harped on developing beneficial relationship with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 4 key areas.
One of such key areas includes Medical and Health relations, with strong interest in having the Pakistani commission help bring in sophisticated surgical equipments to aid the medical facilities already existing at the State Hospitals and Primary Health Care Centres.
Security Relations, Sport Development as it relates to football, badminton, squash and other games, and most importantly mutual trade and commerce activities were exhaustively discussed.
The Hon Commissioner seized the opportunity to sell Osun State as developing brand with several developmental strides on going in the state under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke and his team working relentlessly to turn around the fortune of the State.
In his response, the Pakistani High Commissioner, acknowledged the fact that Nigeria as a whole is a developing country and has similar features with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in terms of Human Resources Management.
He noted that in both Pakistan and Nigeria, the people are resilient and very intelligent to initiate ideas that could change the country economy around for good.
He further stated that a particular city in Pakistan called Sailkot is famous for 2 things, which are the manufacturing and production of surgical equipments, and also production Football which many countries troop into Pakistan to purchase from them because of the richness of the materials used in producing football.
He added that through Pakistani’s chamber of Commerce and Osun State Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, bilateral trade relationships can be established.
He also eulogized Pakistan for its significant export of Rice and Salt which are in cheaper values to countries that they are being exported to, and Osun State can benefit from the cheap and affordable value their commodities offers.
The Pakistani High Commissioner in rounding up noted that he is about to commence a tour to all the states in Nigeria to see how his country can also benefit from the resources in Nigeria and Osun State would be one of his first point of visit.
Other dignitaries that accompanied the Hon Commissioner for Federal Affairs are the Permanent secretary of the ministry, Mr Adelani Aderinola, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Federal Affairs, Mr Abiodun Oladoyin.
