Members of the Nyanbilolu Ruling House of Ekosin in Odo- Otin local government area of Osun State have protested against install Mr Kasali Olagunju as the Akosin of Ekosin.
The Ruling House who aired their grievances on Thursday in front of the Government secretariat, disclosed that Olagunju was not a member of any Ruling House in Ekosin.
Armed with placards with several inscriptions such as “Ekosin people reject Kazali Olagunju”, “Kazali Olagunju is not from any ruling house in Ekosin”, “Gov. Adeleke should respect the rule of law”
According to the letter issued to the State Government, it read: ” Ironically, one kasali Olagunju who hails from Adio’s family (which is not a Ruling House) conspired with some of the Kingmakers and he has been parading himself as a “king” while the proper procedures of selection of candidate were not followed.
” It is a well known fact in the entire community that the said Kasali Olagunju is not and never a member of Nyanbilolu Ruling House but Adio’s family”, the statement read.
Speaking on behalf of the Ruling House, Kayode Oyelere, told the newsmen that none of the Ruling Houses were aware of the installation and it was illegal.
However, Oyelere called for a fresh process to select a new traditionsm ruler for the community, stating that the installation of Olagunju may cause chaos in the town.
“We appeal to the state government to to save our town Ekosin from any form of violence, as we are ready to install a king now and to follow the due process”, he appealed.
Receiving the protester at his office, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi said the government only acted on report of its committee, calling on them to approach the court.
