In a bid to relieve the people during the Ramadan season, the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency, Hon Bamidele Salam on Tuesday commenced distribution of food palliatives to the Muslim community in the four local government areas in his Constituency.
Islamic cleric, leaders of Islamic groups from different communities, Imams, among others converged at the Country Home of Late Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke in Ede, to take the food items.
The Chairman of the distribution committee Alhaji Abdulraman Elesin praised the initiative by Salam, stating that it will go a long way in ameliorating the situations at this “critical period”.
Elesin said,“ I was surprised and pleased when I heard about this program, we distributed the palliatives as instructed and we can only thank Hon Bamidele Salam for deeming it fit to reach out to Muslims at this critical period. This is pure humanity and may Almighty Allah bless him and continue to be with him.
“It is not easy for many people in this present economy, so this is a thoughtful initiative to give people over 6000 families with the Constituency beans, flour and rice to support them during Ramadan “
Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo, a leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Egbedore local government commended the effort of the Lawmaker and how it has helped the people in the federal constituency. “This is a very fantastic program as we all know the state of the country and this is first time this type of program is happening and we all bear witness to his good deeds”.
The palliatives were distributed and beneficiaries expressed their gratitudes.
Awoniran Muyibat from Ejigbo local government expressed her heartfelt gratitude, she said “ We the community and everyone in Ede zone appreciate the efforts of Hon Bamidele Salam and by the grace of God this is just the beginning of great things and we pray God continue to help him”
