The Osun State Police Command has arrested suspected ritualist with the burnt body of a woman and other exhibits of ritual.

According to the PRO, SP Yemisi Opalola on Friday at the Police Headquarters, Osogbo, the suspects Onifade Oyekanmi, Oyebode Olalekan, Ifayemi Ojeleke, Jamiu Lasisi and Aminat Abiola were apprehended in Apomu, Osun State.

Opalola explained that the son to the deceased ( Usman Aminat) reported the woman missing after travelling to Ibadan to meet one of the suspects, who was an herbalist.

Opalola explained that the last suspect, Abiola Aminat, who was a neighbour to the fourth suspect assisted him to conceal his own share of the powder substance suspected to be burnt human parts. She was later granted administrative bail as she is nursing a baby of about 4 months.

In an interview with newsmen, The suspects narrated how they lured and the killed the woman, also burnt her body parts and mixed it with soup to use for money ritual.

The 30 years old suspect narrated, ” I met the woman in one of my outings in Ibadan and she wanted to introduce a fulani to me for business, we, then fixed a date and told her to come Ibadan.

“When she came around, I and my partner took belongings, and strangled her, till she gave up the ghost.

“We waited for the third person to come he was the one that dismembered her, and removed her intestines, while the other two left to get dog and goat, we burnt the woman’s intestines was mixed with that of the dog, pig, goat and other herbs in a black clay pot, burnt to black powder and shared among ourselves, so we could use it for ritual “, he narrated.

While explaining how he was caught, he said the woman used another number to always reach out to him and that was why we were traced and caught.

The PRO reiterated that the suspects will be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

She also enjoined the residents of Osun to always alert the police of suspicious movements in the area and should report any crime happening the community.
