… As PMAN Endorses NDMAP

The Niger Delta Music and Arts Project (NDMAP) has held an industry parley for entertainers in the Niger Delta region. NDMAP, which is one of the six specimens of the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) Holistic Opportunities Programs for Engagement (HOPE), is aimed at nurturing prides of the Niger Delta.

Ambassador Blessing Fubara, the resource consultant for project HOPE, in his address to attendees, welcomed them on board stating, “The Niger Delta MAP is born out of the necessity of establishing a sustainable entertainment industry creating a major resource gateway oriented by the necessity of needs assessment. For far too long, young talents from our region haven’t been properly harnessed; this is why after a few years of reigning, they either fade away or move to other parts of the country for greener pastures. With the Music and Arts Program, the Niger Delta Development Commission intends to correct that anomaly and give our youths the opportunity to become stars. As an industry person, I understand the challenges, and so does the management of NDDC as led by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, who is passionate about bettering the lives of the youths in our region.”

Amb. Fubara also explained that “NDMAP will preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Niger Delta region through music and art. It will provide a platform for indigenous creatives to showcase their talent, fostering a sense of pride and identity within the region. The Niger Delta Music and Arts Project is designed to create platforms, enable talents, and empower creatives in five cardinal areas: music production, movie production, cinematography, creative content, and visual arts.” He further took time to explain the concept and idea behind the Holistic Opportunities and Programs for Engagement (HOPE).

A major part of the event was the endorsement of the Niger Delta Music and Arts Program (NDMAP) by the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, led by its President General, Pretty Okafor, who shared valuable insights on NDMAP and the roles of the NDDC towards making a positive impact in the entertainment industry. He discussed new trends, innovation, and the future of music, leaving participants enriched and motivated. Live music freestyle from emerging and established artists provided the perfect backdrop, showcasing talent, and encouraging creative exchanges. He also promised that PMAN would give all necessary support and expertise to NDMAP.

The Desk of the Project H.O.P.E was meticulous in ensuring a seamless experience that highlighted the importance of community and connection within the music industry. Attendees praised the parley for its ability to blend education with entertainment, making it both a professional milestone and a memorable social gathering.

Overall, the NDMAP regional industry parley achieved its goal of enlightening its participants and fostering meaningful connections, setting a high standard for future industry events within the region.
