The Alumni Association of the Osun State University, Osogbo has sworn in new National Executives.

The inauguration was held at the School premises on Friday, which had in attendance, a representative of the Vice Chancellor, the University Registrar, members of staff and members of the Association.

Addressing the new Executives, representative of the University Vice Chancellor, who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Research, Innovation and Partnership, Prof Lawrence Kehinde commended the Association for their contribution to the university.

He charged them to work in synergy with the University’s vision in order to achieve a common goal.

The Registar of the University, Mrs Atinuke Oguntunde commended the Alumni Association for their input and contribution to the growth and development of the University.

“I’d like to appreciate the Association for their support and contribution to their Alma Mater over the years, this is the 11th Alumni inauguration and we’ve recorded so many growth in the University that has been done by former administrations of the Alumni Association”, she commended.

She further encouraged them to build solid foundation, to come together to work as one body to achieve the mutual goal of the University and Association.

“The Association should work hand in hand with the University, members, they should work in synergy, so we can both move the University forward”, she encouraged.

The Chairman Board of Trustees, Engr Adebisi Aderanti advised the New Executives to live on integrity, and work together with members of the Association to achieve success in their administration.

“To the new Executives, I charge you to live on integrity, work together among your fellow Executives, members and the School, so success can be recorded in your administration”, he charged.

The Newly Inaugurated President, Basit Abubakar Olokuta appreciated the University, Association and other members for their support and contribution.

He promised to work in total collaboration with the school vision and also to move the Alumni body forward.

“We have understudied some of the underlying issues bedevilling this association and would leave no stone unturned in solving these issues.

” We intend to run a transparent, accountable and members-oriented administration and, therefore, we ask for your patience and support as we bestow to us a virile, and roundly developed association.

“Therefore, I advocate that as members of this association, we should always put our association’s interest before ours, and embrace peace, dialogue and mediation, as effective tools for managing our differences”, he said.

Olokuta and other executive members were elected during a national Congress held on April 27, 2024.
