In commemoration of the Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun’s birthday, Abigail Jonathan Ajayi Foundation held a free medical outreach in Speaker’s hometown, Asi Town in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.

Members of the community gathered at the Ebenezer African Church on Saturday to get free medical services from the Foundation.

Speaker Egbedun celebrates 39th birthday on Saturday, June 29.

Dr Akin Ajayi, a consultant family physician and public health expert, explained the narrative and motive behind the Abigail Jonathan Ajayi Foundation.

“Abigail Jonathan Ajayi Foundation is created to help the needy, the poor and those living with chronic and terminal illnesses and the less privileged and the aged, those are the people we are targeting regardless of their religion, political parties and their tribes, To give back to needy and the less privileged free of charge.

Ajayi stated that the foundation was named after his parents to reach out to the poor and less privileged in order to assist them in terms of medical services.

The Secretary of the Foundation, David Oyelele stated that over 300 persons were been attended to at the medical outreach and drugs were administered to those who were in need and other medical attention and advice were given to.

“In our foundation, we provide free healthcare services to the needy and less privileged. We are in Asi Town today, we have attended to over 300 people, their vitals were checked, eye glasses were given, laboratory tests were conducted, blood sugar and High blood pressure test were also conducted, and drugs were given to them free of charge”, he stated.

The Beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent appreciated the Speaker and the Foundation for reaching out to the grassroots through the free medical outreach.

They urged other members, politicians to imbibe the good act as a way of giving back to the public and a way of them fulfilling their campaign promises, while also praying for long life and prosperity for the speaker.
