Indigenes of Ekosin in Odo-Otin local government area of Osun State have called on Governor Ademola Adeleke not to be misled by some individuals over the appointment of new Akosin of Ekosin.

The indigenes, under the aegies of Concerned sons and daughters of Ekosin, in a statement by Adesola Babalola said the stool of Akosin is still vacant.

The group said the issue of Akosin is still pending before an Osun State High Court sitting in Ikirun.

The statement reads, “The Concerned sons and daughters of Ekosin in Odo-Otin local government area of Osun State are calling on the attention of the Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Osun State, Barrister Jimi Bada, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dosu Babatunde and the Osun State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt Hon. Adewale Egbedun to the fact that the throne of Akosin of Ekosin is still vacant.

“We want to draw the attention of these stakeholders to suit HIK/46/2022 which is challenging the steps taken by the kingmakers so far.

“Traditional councils in Osun State and Odo-Otin local government are hereby urged to allow due process to be completed.

“This is necessary to avoid breakdown of law and orders in our beloved community.”

InsightMedia recalls that some sons and daughters of the community protested against alleged appointment of a prince as Akosin in February this year.
