Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq extends his greetings to the Muslim community ahead of the Eid-el-Adha events, asking Allaah to bless the ummah and keep it on the path of goodness.

The Governor also congratulates the pilgrims, especially the Kwara State contingent, whose Hajj rites climaxed with their gathering and prayers at Mount Arafah on Saturday, according to a Government House statement.

He asks Allaah to accept their spiritual journey, reward them with Al-jannah Firdaus, and grant them journey mercies back to their homes.

The Governor, meanwhile, urges the Muslim community to reflect on the lessons of Hajj and the festivities around it, such as the virtues of patience, sacrifice, piety, faith in God, justice and fairness, support for one another, and persistent reliance on the Creator in all areas of our lives.

“As a country, we are going through a phase in socioeconomic reforms, which comes on the wings of global economic challenges. The Governor calls on our compatriots to continue to support and pray for the President and for all of us to do our bits for the progress of our country,” the statement added.

“In Kwara, the Governor welcomes our people back home for the sallah festivities and different sociocultural activities. A lot has been done to make everyone comfortable and safe, even as different recreational areas are open for people to have a pleasant, memorable time.

“As we journey across the state, we are certain to come across huge construction sites, which may slow down vehicular traffic. His Excellency appeals for patience as these projects are part of our rural urban transformation efforts — all geared towards improving socioeconomic development, improving travel time, beautifying our communities, and boosting life expectancy for our people.”
