The Osun State Amotekun Corps has apprehended three men for allegedly stealing vehicle spare parts in Ode-Omu, Ayedaade Local Government Area, Osun State.
The suspects, Sodiq Oyedokun (21), Ojoko Ayomiposi (21), and Busari Ayomide (24), were arrested on Wednesday while attempting to sell the stolen items.
According to press release by the public relations officer of the Osun Amotekun corps, the suspects tried to sell the stolen spare parts to a local dealer in Ode-Omu.
However, the dealer, upon suspecting foul play, refused to buy the items and immediately alerted the Amotekun operatives. The operatives responded swiftly and arrested the suspects on the spot.
The suspects confessed to stealing the items from a mechanic workshop in Akure, Ondo State. They had fled to Ode-Omu in Osun State, hoping to sell the stolen goods when they got caught.
The Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Hon. Adekunle I. Omoyele, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
He stated, “The suspects attempted to sell the stolen items to a local dealer in Ode-Omu, but their plan was foiled when the dealer alerted the Amotekun operatives. They had stolen the items from a mechanic workshop owned by Mr. Victor in Akure, Ondo State.”
The suspects have since been transferred to the Amotekun Command in Ondo State for further investigation and prosecution.
