The Osun State chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council has announced that it will honour former civilian Governors of Osun at its maiden programme, tagged the Platform.

According to the Chairman of IPAC, Pastor Victor Akande during a press briefing in Osogbo on Wednesday, those to be honoured are late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and incumbent Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The programme, which is scheduled to hold on December 5, 2024, will serve as an avenue for political parties to discuss issues of governance.

Akande said, “We are organising IPAC Day during which we will present meritorious awards to great men who have served in their capacity as democratic governors in Osun state.

“When we considered their sterling attributes and the great contributions as governors, we felt they deserved our honour so as to serve as an encouragement for the coming generations.

“As administrators per excellence and politicians of repute, these men did their best in turning around the business, economic, social and political scenario of Osun State.

“During their times, they rendered impeccable services that touched the lives of the people of the State in a remarkable way and history will forever be grateful to them.

“Some of them have proven their integrity as good ambassadors of Osun State at the federal level and we need to let them know that we are monitoring them closely.”

While fielding questions, Secretary of Planning Committee of the event, Tosin Odeyemi said the event is purely sponsored by members of the council, adding the event and award is devoid of political colouration.
