Ahead of the Local Government Elections slated for February 2025, the ruling Party in Osun State, the Peoples Democratic Party has been experiencing various crisis across many of the  Local Government Areas.

According to the various videos sighted on a social media platform, Facebook by our correspondent, several protests, wailing, arguments have ensure following the ongoing nomination of candidates.

According to one of the aspirants of Ife East, Hon Olalekan Olawole, a chairmanship aspirant, alleged that a former National Secretary of the Party, Professor Wale Oladipo sent thugs after him.

In 2 minutes video, Olawole said, “Our Apex Leader, Prof Wale Oladipo sent boys after me to kill me in my establishment, I escaped and I am currently in police station, Imore, Ile-Ife.

He was seen doing the video at a police station in Ile-Ife while calling on the Governor Ademola Adeleke, The SSG, Hon Teslim Igbalaye for help.

In a another series of event, in Boripe Local Government, the popular businesswoman, Alhaja Falilat Yusuf also known as Ero Arike alleged that her husband was cheated and there was manipulation of the primaries results.

A crying Yusuf added that her husband, Olatunji was supposed to be the candidate and the ticket was given to someone else.

According to the video on Facebook, Ero Arike was seen wailing and crying that the PDP has cheated her husband after spending a lot of money on the primaries election.

In Irepodun Local Government Area, there has been a protest against the ruling party, PDP, where the protesters are chanting that “they don’t want the PDP in the community, they are thieves and they are not part of the party”.

In the meantime, the Chairman of Osun PDP, Sunday Bisi has called on Party faithful and aspirants to bring their complaints to the Party instead of going on social media to ventilate grievance.

Bisi said this in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Friday in Osogbo. He assured members of proper resolution of crisis.

The party chief enjoined members to cultivate the habit of exploring internal mechanisms for the ventilation of their grievances.

Bisi who linked the hot contest for the party tickets to its huge popularity among the people assured those with questions to put their complaints in writing and submit to the state leadership.

According to Hon Bisi, the party leadership will not support injustice in whatever form, hence the initial release of timetable for the primary process which include appeal even after a winner has emerged at the primary.

“ The PDP is a very popular platform in Osun State, hence many want to fly the flag of the party at the local elections. We are the winning party because our Governor is delivering well to the people. We are not surprised our primary process has drawn so much attention and controversy.

“We are aware of complaints in some local governments. We will surely resolve them amicably. So the door of the state leadership is open. We will get a stronger PDP at the end of it all.

“ Now that we have complained one way or the other, it is time to meet the state leadership for resolution. The PDP remains a strong electoral platform. We are a family and we must adopt a conflict resolution mechanism”, Hon Bisi affirmed.

InsightMedia has reported that Governor Ademola Adeleke at a meeting with stakeholders on Tuesday urged the Party leadership to ensure matters are resolved internally without resorting to social media.
