Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tony Okocha has called for more support to the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Okocha made the call while addressing crowd who gathered to hold one million man match in demonstration of support to Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking after the rally, the APC boss said the Rivers people came out voluntarily to hold the walk in appreciation of Tinubu’s relentless effort to make lives better for Nigerians.

Here’s his speech, “One is that whilst a few people fly the flag of Russia, we in Rivers State, we fly the Nigerian flag as patriotic citizens of our great country.”

“On their own volition and freeness of heart, Rivers people came out in their large numbers as a demonstration of their genuine support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and to affirm their belief in the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President which is aimed at revitalising the Nigerian economy and reposition our beloved country on the path of growth, progress, and sustainable development.”

“You all saw how successful and peaceful the procession was.”

“We are marching for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to also clean the rot that was typical of August 1st to August 10th, 2024.”

“We’re Rivers people and we all know that Rivers State has never been an epicenter of any negative protest or demonstration like what we all witnessed few days back.”

“The man who held midnight meetings, who procured and sponsored innocent unsuspecting youths was the only one who benefited from the 10-days of inactivity in Nigeria, particularly in Rivers State.”

“On the first day that youths gathered, the Governor had the presence of mind to take to the rostrum, to tell the youths that he will pass their message to Mr President, assuming and absorbing himself from the issue.”

“You saw when the Governor said that he will give them something for bread and pure water.”

“When other Governors in other States are circumspect, when other Governors in other States are busy meeting with all manner and strata of people in their States, our own Governor drives freely to attend the burial of somebody’s mother in Khana LGA in the State, and whilst he was moving, he drove deliberately through the crowd – the people that he mobilized to protest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and he wants us and tells the world that he’s a supporter of Mr President.
It is a fat lie!”

“This is the family and supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Rivers State.”

“The Tinubu family in Rivers State is under the leadership of His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, GSSRS, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”

“You can see behind what am wearing. It is tagged 002, what that means is that there is a 001.”

“We represent 001. He’s very much aware that his family in Rivers State as simple as we are, that we’re here to show support, and rally support for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“We believe that Rome was not built in a day. As it has been said, if you want to make omelet, you must break an egg.”

“Some and many of what Mr President is doing at the moment are programs that are futuristic.”

“Have you seen at anytime in the history of this country that a President recognises the fact of what education can do for a people.”

“Are you not aware of the Students’ Loan Scheme?

“Will the gains and benefits of that nobel idea of Mr President to the youths, who are the immediate beneficiaries of the Students’ Loan Scheme, and the multiplier effect in the future on the overall growth and development of our great country manifest today?

“The answer is no!

“If you’re going to the university, the minimum stay will be four (4) years, so you will see all the hopes and dreams of the students’ manifest after four (4) years.”

“Some people have talked about fuel subsidy. Even at the point when other candidates in the 2023 presidential election were on the field campaigning to be President of Nigeria, they said that fuel subsidy will not last one more day if they’re elected into office.”

“I still remember listening to Mr Peter Obi when he spoke.”

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was bold enough to say that, that fuel subsidy regime which benefitted only a few people, that regime that impoverished Nigeria and Nigerians, so much so that States were borrowing money to pay salaries, that the regime was over, and we’re seeing the results of it.”

“So many money, much much money now accrues to the system, and are shared into three (3) – the Federal, the States, and the Local Governments.”

‘Have we asked our Governors and our Local Government Chairmen what they’re doing with the huge and homongous amount of money that accrues to them as unprecedented as it is?

“What have they done?

“So, why is it that it is President Tinubu that is the problem, a man who has just been on the rostrum for 14 months?”

“We know, that he knows what to do at the fullness of time.”

“Mr President has come down from his high horse to address Nigerians.”

“Some are saying that he should have been punchy to say this and that. No!”

“That is called a presidential address.

“I want to say to all Rivers people who came out in support of Mr President that we thank you for coming, and that l adopt all that my colleagues have said, including the ones that you’ve not said as mine, and I say to you that God will bless all of us.”
