Today, as the world celebrates International Youth Day, the Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke reaffirms its commitment to harnessing the potential of the youth through strategic digital and enterprise development initiatives.

This was contained in a statement by Adekunle Ademola-Sadipe, the Chairman of Youth Advisory Council to Governor Adeleke.

This year’s theme, ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,’ highlights the pivotal role that young people play in driving technological advancements and sustainable development across the globe.

In Osun State, the youth have consistently demonstrated immense potential in adopting and leveraging digital technologies to foster growth and innovation. Governor Adeleke, understanding the critical importance of youth empowerment, has fostered an enabling environment where young people can thrive, innovate, and contribute significantly to the state’s development.

Ademola-Sadipe underscored the importance of this day, stating, “Osun State’s youth are the driving force behind our digital transformation. They are not just passive users of technology but active creators and innovators, shaping a future where sustainable development is within our grasp. Governor Adeleke’s administration is committed to providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to turn their ideas into tangible progress.”

One of the flagship initiatives that exemplify this commitment is the ongoing partnership with the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG). This collaboration is currently equipping 200 young individuals in Osun State with vital enterprise skills designed to drive economic growth and foster entrepreneurship. These training programs are not only empowering our youth with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in today’s digital economy but are also positioning Osun State as a hub for innovation and enterprise.

Reflecting on the importance of enterprise skills, Ademola-Sadipe added, “Enterprise skills are the engine that will drive the productivity of our youth. By investing in their education and digital literacy, we are laying a solid foundation for sustainable development in Osun State. Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the innovators of today.”
