Two underage Scrabble athletes sponsored by the Kwara State Government under His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq have been selected to represent Nigeria at the 2024 World Youth Scrabble Championships (WYSC).
Named Aliu AbdulQudus Olawale and Olojoku Sufyan Boluwatife, the skilful under-17 Scrabble athletes whose creative wordplay often catches their opponents off guard are students of the iconic Government High School, Adeta Ilorin.
Last year, the two tactical geniuses who use tiles to maximise advantage clinched gold for Kwara at the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, courtesy of the preparation they were exposed to by the Kwara State Sports Commission.
