The Police Command in Lagos State says it has detained a man (names withheld), for allegedly killing his neighbour and her son over environmental sanitation dispute in Lekki area of the state.
The command Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on. Monday in Lagos.
He said that the incident happened on Sunday about 10:50 p.m. and investigation was ongoing to ascertain what the suspect used to perpetrate the crime.
He said that on Sept. 15, about 22:50, an information was received at the Elemoro division that the suspect allegedly killed one Gloria, who was his neighbour and her son, over an argument on cleaning of the environment.
The command spokesman said that the suspect put their dead bodies in a big sack to dispose the bodies.
He said that luck was against him, when other neighbours informed the police at Elemoro division of the incident.
“Immediately detectives of the division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and recovered the bodies,” Hundeyin said.
The command spokesman said that the bodies had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
According to him, police detectives are investigating the incident. (NAN)
