The Osun State chapter of the National Association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB) inaugurated its newly elected executives on Wednesday to ensure the smooth continuation of leadership within the association.

The inauguration took place at the NAMB office in Osogbo, the State capital, where the former administration was officially dissolved.

During his valedictory speech, the outgoing chairman, Tunde Lawal, highlighted on the accomplishments of his tenure, emphasizing the initiatives that were accomplished under his leadership.

“Four cardinal programmes were vigorously pursued: Capacity Building for Managing Directors, strengthening relationships with inter-governmental agencies within the state, facilitating the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of member banks, harmonization of bank policies, and the commercialization of the State Chapter Secretariat,” Lawal stated.

He also urged the new administration to continue the work started during his tenure, saying, “The coming administration should build on the momentum, and the new leadership must ensure that what is built is sustained.”

The newly inaugurated chairman, Charles Adedayo, who previously served as vice-chairman, outlined his vision for the future of the association.

“We are honored by the trust placed in us, and we promise to be responsible in our roles and positions. We acknowledge that our past leaders have made impacts, and we are committed to building upon the legacy that has been built for us,” Adebayo said.

He further called for the support of the association’s members to help his administration succeed. “We believe in the strength of cooperation. We, therefore, appeal for your cooperation at all times and in all areas. We want you to be punctual at meetings and need your active contribution of ideas.”

Mr Dauda Adebisi-Balogun of Ospoly Microfinance Bank is now the Vice Chairman, while Mr Yunusa Musiliu Ayofe of Legend MFB is the new General Secretary.

Others are Mustapha Wasiu, Assistant General Secretary; Adegbemiro Olawumi, Financial Secretary; Oladokun Kayode, Treasurer; Dunmoye Olumiyiwa, the Public Relations Officers and Alhaji Tunde Lawal is now the Ex-officio.

The Association also ratified the nomination of Adebisi-Balogun as the zonal Vice Chairman in the Southwest. The nomination will be confirmed at a zonal Congress slated for Thursday in Ibadan.
