The Osun State Executive Council has announced the dates for interviews in the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise.

This decision comes as the recruitment process nears its conclusion, with the Council directing the Ministry of Education to conduct interviews for applicants who met the cut-off criteria following the recruitment test.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, who presided over the Council meeting, received updates from the Commissioner for Education, Hon Eluwole Edu. Edu briefed the Council on the progress of the recruitment process, leading to the final stage of interviews.

The Council emphasized the importance of a merit-based selection process and instructed the Ministry of Education to release an official notice detailing the dates and venues for the interviews.

The delay in concluding the exercise was attributed to extended negotiations over the new minimum wage, which have now been resolved. The state government has established an implementation committee to begin enforcement.

In addition, the Council acknowledged that there are about two thousand beneficiaries under the service program, aimed at addressing the staff shortage in the state’s school system.
