Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has mourned the demise of the paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

Oyetola commiserates with the Oloris, children of the deceased as well as sons and daughters of Ijesaland over the passage of the revered monarch.

Oba Aromolaran’s passing was formally announced on Thursday in a statement signed by Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fajuyi after the first class monarch reportedly breathed his last on Wednesday at the aged of 86.

Oyetola, in a statement by his spokesperson, Ismail Omipidan described the late monarch as an embodiment of royalty whose entire life was spent to serve God and humanity.

The Minister eulogized the virtues of the late monarch including his academic accolades and vast knowledge that culminated into the monumental strides witnessed in Ijesaland in particular, Osun state and Nigeria in general, during his reign.

He acknowledged the tremendous impacts of the late paramount ruler of Ijesaland into creation of the state from the Old Oyo state, emphasising that the people of Osun would forever remember his indelible imprints even in eternal ascension.

“I received the news of the passage of our revered paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran with a rude shock. Kabiesi was known for brilliance, bravery and bluntness as these virtues, exhibited throughout his reign, culminated to many successes recorded not only in Ijesaland but in the state and the country as a whole.

“No doubt, the departed Aromolaran was an epitome of culture, character, integrity and dignity. Being the symbol of Ijesas, he spent all his entire life to serve God and humanity. His over 42 years reign indeed witnessed myriad of developments cutting-across different aspects of life.

“We shall forever remember him for his valour, commitment and love for humanity and we pray God to rest his soul. My heartfelt condolences to the Oloris, children and family of the monarch, as well as the entire people of Ijesaland and Osun state traditional council, over the demise.

“May God grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss”, Oyetola said.
