The Osun Masterminds, a coalition of Civil Societies has said the Osun State University Teaching Hospital is currently losing its standards in terms of service delivery.

Prof Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, the Executive Director of the organization made this known at the August edition of its state of the State address on Saturday.

According to him, basic medical issues such as tests, scans and others are being referred to private hospitals.

He said, “News and reports coming from the operation and running of UNIOSUN TEACHING HOSPITAL is not anything to be proud of for a tertiary institution of health such as that.

“We have it on good authority that services been rendered by the hospital is not topnotch and unbefitting of an hospital of such standard.

“Issues as minute as blood test, blood group, scans and other issues are been referred to other hospitals and private diagnostic centers in the state at a price uneasy for the people. Machines and equipments needed are not available and this impacts wrongly on the promise of good health care by the government.

“We charge the government to beam searchlight on the running of the UNIOSUN teaching hospital in the interest of the people. The people deserve more in terms of healthcare so that we don’t continue to lose the people to be governed.”
