In a view to giving back to the society and to empower leaders of tomorrow to have quality education, the Monsur Oladimeji Tijani Foundation gave out writing materials, school bags to over 1,000 students in Ede, Osun State.

 

This may also be said to be an attempt to reduce burden on parents considering the current economic crisis facing low-income earners.

 

No fewer than 200 primary students were given school bags and writing materials at Young Tajudeen primary school, while over 800 students got writing materials at Ede Muslim Grammar school on Thursday both in Ede.

 

In an interview with newsmen, Monsur Oladimeji Tijani, the founder of the foundation, stated the motive behind the empowerment

 

He said, “We started the foundation in order to give back to the community, this will be our second programme in Ede.

 

“Initially, we did something last year during Ramadan where we distributed food items, we were distributing almost 200 packages of food throughout Ramadan

 

“This being our second, we thought what better way to support the children, we thought coming to the schools to enable the future leaders in propelling them to better height.

“We are very very passionate about the upcoming generation, it is extremely important that if we were going to change anything in our country, we have to start from the children, We intend to do more of this, this is a first of many” he explained.

 

He also advised that other non governmental organizations, well-being individuals to invest the future of the young generation.

 

“It will be important for more people to do things of this nature because the government is trying it’s best but it can’t be too much, the more we can do the better for everyone”, he advised.

 

Jubilant students expressed their delight over the gesture, while teachers of the schools called on other well-meaning individuals to support the students.

 

Some of the staff of the school commended the organization, describing the materials as “important”.
