The Osun Osogbo community has debunked the rumour surrounding the health of Chief Osunyemi Ifarinu, the Baba Oosa of Osogbo land and Chief custodian of the sacred Osun Osogbo groove.

A statement obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo on Saturday revealed that the Baba Oosa is hale and hearty and performing his duties at the sacred groove.

The statement reads, “The Osun Osogbo community and close associates of Osunyemi Ifarinu, the revered Baba Oosa of Osogboland who is an esteemed priest of the Osun sacred grove, wish to categorically debunk the false rumors circulating regarding his death.

“We are pleased to confirm that Osunyemi Ifarinu, the Baba Oosa of Osogboland, is alive, in excellent health, and continues to carry out his sacred duties in service to the Osun deity and the people of Osogboland. These unfounded rumors, which have recently spread across social media and other platforms, are false and should be disregarded by the public.

“The Baba Oosa remains deeply committed to his spiritual leadership and the protection of the Osun tradition. His role as a guardian of the Osun Grove and a custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage continues to be a source of strength and inspiration to the community.

“We call on all media outlets and individuals to avoid sharing unverified information that may cause undue distress and confusion.
