Nigerian rapper and singer, Remilekun Khalid Safaru, widely known as Reminisce, has sparked discussions around relationships and gender roles by arguing that a man can never satisfy a woman.

The rapper cum actor expressed the controversial viewpoint while speaking during a recent interview on the popular podcast “I Said What I Said,” hosted by FK and Jola.

Reminisce said, “Women will never be satisfied. If you provide and over-provide, they will still complain. If you provide too much time, they will look like you are… you just have to strike the balance.”

His remarks reflect a belief that no matter how much effort or resources a man invests in a relationship, it may not meet a woman’s expectations.

Despite this assertion, Reminisce emphasized the values instilled in him regarding the treatment of women, highlighting the importance of responsibility.

He explained that in his family, the care of women has always been a fundamental principle. “The way I run my home, for example, is if my wife needs money to buy something, I’ll give it to her. Even if she blows it, I gave the money. That’s how I was raised, and that’s how my father and his father before him lived their lives,” he elaborated. This philosophy underscores a deep-seated commitment to providing for the women in his life, including his wife and sisters.

Reminisce acknowledged the challenges he faces in balancing his career and family life.

He revealed that his busy schedule has often left little room for personal time with his wife.

“Last year was the first time in 11 years I went out with my wife that is not a family party occasion because there is no time. No free weekend. No free day. Where is the time? I was active. People just have to go out and provide for the family,” he lamented.

The artist also drew a contrast between his traditional views on marriage and more contemporary perspectives that advocate for shared responsibilities.

He noted, “If that’s your choice, that’s fine. But for me, I believe it’s my duty to care for my wife, and all of these things are about personal choices.” This statement reflects his stance on the traditional roles of men and women, suggesting that his approach is rooted in his upbringing rather than societal pressures.

Overall, Reminisce’s comments illuminate a blend of tradition and personal conviction, showcasing his belief in the importance of providing for women and the challenges that modern relationships present.
