The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has been announced as the Chairman of the occasion to mark the 5th anniversary of Satcom Media, a leading media outfit in Kwara State.
The landmark event is scheduled to take place on November 29, 2024, at the NUJ Press Centre in Ilorin.
Senator Mustapha, who also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, is renowned for his dedication to advancing community development and youth empowerment. His role as Chairman of the Satcom@5 celebration further cements his reputation as a friend of the media and a champion of progressive causes.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Miss Idris Sekinat, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, described the milestone as a pointer to Satcom Media’s impact on community growth.
“Satcom Media has, over the past five years, remained steadfast in its mission to inform, educate, and inspire positive change within our community. The choice of Senator Mustapha as Chairman of this anniversary therefore reflects his support for media excellence and youth development over the years,” she stated.
“Senator Saliu Mustapha is more than a political leader; he is a mentor and enabler. His passion for youth empowerment and his consistent support for all genres of the media makes him the ideal person to chair this historic occasion,” she added.
Miss Sekinat also highlighted the event’s theme, which revolves around celebrating the role of local media in shaping a more informed and empowered society.
