Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, made history on Tuesday by casting his first-ever vote in a United States election.
The award-winning artist and ‘Awuke’ crooner disclosed this in a post on X.com.
This comes as Americans voted in the US presidential election on Tuesday, choosing between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump.
Davido shared a picture of himself displaying his “I’m a Georgia voter. I secured my vote!” sticker after voting in the US election.
His caption read, “First-time voter!”
Earlier on Tuesday, Davido had urged American citizens to stay safe as they exercised their voting rights, saying, “Election day y’all be safe as you perform your constitutional rights.”
Reportedly born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 21, 1992, to Nigerian parents, Davido holds dual citizenship through his birth in the US.
This milestone comes about a year after Davido’s notable recognition at the Georgia General Assembly in December 2023, where he was recognised as an outstanding citizen.
In October 2023, Davido and his wife, Chioma, also welcomed a set of twins — a boy and a girl — in the United States.
