Afrobeats sensation Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has shattered his own record for the highest number of opening-day streams on Spotify Nigeria.

Previously, Wizkid’s R&B collaboration with American singer Brent Faiyaz, titled ‘Piece Of My Heart,’ held the record with 1.016 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in a single day.

However, his latest single, ‘Kese (Dance),’ has surpassed this milestone, amassing 1.57 million streams in just 24 hours.

The new track also achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the record for the biggest opening-day streams for an African song on the global Spotify platform, recording 2.753 million streams.

‘Kese’ serves as one of the lead singles from Wizkid’s forthcoming album, ‘Morayo,’ set for release later this month. The album is a tribute to his late mother, Mrs. Morayo Jane Balogun, reflecting the singer’s deep personal connection to his latest body of work.
