The Osun State civil servants held a walk to live to honour the Governor of the State, Sen Ademola Adeleke for the implementation of the 75,000 minimum wage.
The civil servants who were full of praises and appreciation on Monday, staged the walk at the Government Secretariat in Abeere.
Addressing the elated crowd, Governor Adeleke appreciated the workers for their support and promised that he will continue to work for them.
“I appreciate you for your support ever since I became the Governor, and according to the campaign promises I made, you can see that we have now infrastructural development in the capital
“And the implementation of the minimum wage amongst other campaign promises we intend to fulfill in our term and beyond.
“I also reassure you that anytime you call on the Governor, I will be there to answer your call”, the Governor remarked.
The Osun State chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo commended the state government for fulfilling his promises and reiterated the Labour’s support in voting in the Governor in the forthcoming governorship election.
“I would like to appreciate Mr. Governor for giving us seamless and rancour-free approval during the negotiation process. Mr. Governor has proven himself to be a man of his words and truly a thoughtful leader.
“In a nutshell, I advise and appeal to his Excellency to continue this good gesture towards workers and the entire Osun State. On behalf of the entire labor force movement in Osun State.
“I appeal to the entire workforce to kindly continue supporting this government. As we all know, we are like Oliver Twist – we will always ask for more. However, to whom much is given, much is expected, and we should always support this government. We promise as a movement that we will not disappoint them”, he concluded.
