“Love Baddo! 4L (for life) tin,” tweeted music star Wizkid on December 26, 2024. Known for his reserved social media presence, Wizkid’s rare tweets often spark significant discussion, and this one was no exception.

Amid widespread speculation of a fallout between Olamide and his star artiste, Asake, many interpreted Wizkid’s message as a show of solidarity with Olamide, although its intent remains unclear.

The buzz began earlier when Asake cleaned his Instagram account, leaving only one post, removing “YBNL” from his bio, and unfollowing his label boss, Olamide Adedeji.

Neither party has addressed the situation publicly, but fans and industry insiders have offered various theories.

Speculation ranged from contract disputes to Asake pursuing independence. Reports suggest his YBNL contract, signed in February 2022, recently expired, and he reportedly declined a renewal.

—“Eleniyan! Love always brother”—added fuel to the social media frenzy, making “Olamide” and “Asake” top trending topics.

Opinions on the fallout remain divided. Social media influencer Oyemykke emphasized the mutual benefits of the relationship between Asake and YBNL.

In a video, he advised, “Asake needs Olamide’s experience, and YBNL benefits from Asake’s success. They should renegotiate terms to make the relationship more about legacy than money.”

Similarly, Daniel Regha argued that Asake’s fanbase is largely YBNL’s audience and cautioned against severing ties too soon.

“Asake’s relevance is tied to Olamide’s influence. He’s still building his foundation and risks losing traction without YBNL’s support,” Regha tweeted.

Meanwhile, Naijashimadun labeled the fallout a “family issue” and urged both parties to resolve their differences privately. He pointed out Asake’s absence from Olamide’s recent event as concerning and advised the artiste to prioritize their bond.

Adding another dimension, Dammy Krane suggested Asake’s actions might be justified, hinting at possible grievances with Olamide. He shared a screenshot of a purported conversation with Olamide, accusing him of questionable behavior.

Notably, this isn’t the first time Asake has removed “YBNL” from his profile, having done so in June 2024, which also caused significant online speculation.

As fans and critics await official statements, the alleged fallout highlights the complexities of label-artist relationships, especially in an industry where collaboration and loyalty are often tested.
