Social media personality Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has expressed his backing for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, should he decide to run for the position of Lagos State governor in 2027.
While neither Seyi nor President Tinubu have officially commented on his potential candidacy, several groups have already shown support for Seyi’s bid for governor.
In a video posted on Instagram on Friday, VeryDarkMan revealed his reasons for supporting Seyi’s possible candidacy. He emphasized that electing a young leader like Seyi would represent a significant shift in Nigerian politics, opening the door for more young people to take on political roles.
At 39, Seyi would be 42 by 2027, making him the youngest person to ever serve as Lagos State governor.
“If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship, I’m going to campaign for him. I don’t do politics, but I’ll make an exception for Seyi Tinubu,” VeryDarkMan stated.
“Based on my calculation, Seyi is a bridge to achieving something I believe will make Nigeria work.”
He added that Seyi follows his father’s political strategies, which involve placing loyalists in strategic positions early on to ensure his influence.
VeryDarkMan speculated that Seyi likely has supporters in key positions, noting that these individuals are probably not older people, as they would be harder for him to manage.
The influencer further predicted that under Seyi’s leadership, his loyalists could rise to prominent positions, such as state governors and high-ranking officials, across the country.
VeryDarkMan suggested that this could lead to a rebellion by younger generations against Seyi’s rule, ultimately leading to positive developments for Nigeria.
