Controversial crossdresser Okuneye Idris, known as Bobrisky, has appealed to Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy to show mercy on fellow entertainer Darlington Okoye popular know as Speed Darlington and help secure his release from prison.

In a series of Instagram story posts on Sunday, Bobrisky expressed concern for Speed Darlington’s well-being, urging Burna Boy to forgive him. He argued that the 45 days Speed Darlington has spent in jail should be sufficient punishment.

Bobrisky shared, “I just want to stay out of celebrity drama this year, but I can’t help thinking about certain things because of my soft heart. Burna Boy, please forgive Speed. Prison is no place to be, and I don’t think he can afford the VIP section it’s too expensive.”

He continued, “None of these people I’m standing up for did the same for me when I needed help, but that’s just the way we are. Our hearts are different. I can’t bear to see people suffering. Please, Burna, release him. 45 days in prison is enough punishment.”

Bobrisky also took aim at fans for encouraging Speed Darlington’s controversial behavior, urging them to hold celebrities accountable for their actions.

He said, “Fans, stop cheering your favorites when they’re out of line. You all supported Speed when he was being disrespectful, but now none of you are in prison with him.”

Recall that Speed Darlington was arrested in October 2024 on charges of defamation and cyberstalking Burna Boy.

He was initially detained in Lagos, then transferred to Abuja, where he was held by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in Guzape.

After his release from police custody, he was re-arrested in November while performing in Owerri, Imo State, shortly after returning to Nigeria.
