Veteran actor Patrick Doyle has lauded Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for his humility and maturity in handling criticism.

 

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Doyle reflected on his admiration for the singer, comparing his resilience to a profound lesson he once learned from the late Segun Awolowo.

 

Recounting a visit to the Awolowo family home in Ikene, Doyle described encountering an inscription, “Eebudola,” which translates to “insults have turned to wealth.”

 

The actor explained how this concept highlights the transformative power of adversity and praised Davido for embodying it.

 

Doyle observed that Davido, despite facing relentless attacks from his peers, consistently exhibits grace and calmness.

 

“He has, for the most part, maintained a calm disposition and a reluctance to engage his adversaries,” Doyle wrote.

 

“This is commendable and, perhaps, an inherited trait from his father, a self-effacing billionaire.”

 

While acknowledging Davido’s flashy and bold public persona a necessity in the entertainment industry.

 

Doyle noted the singer’s humility in personal interactions. “On the rare occasions when he has erred and been corrected by elders, he has humbly redirected his steps without retorting rudely,” he said.

 

The actor highlighted how Davido’s response to criticism only seems to elevate his global stature.

 

“The more they attack him and he ignores them, the more his stature as a global star shines,” Doyle added, emphasizing that Davido exemplifies the “Eebudola” philosophy.

 

Concluding his reflection, Doyle described Davido as the “Eebudola of the entertainment industry,” commending his unwavering composure and humility in a challenging space dominated by egos and rivalry.
